You can access all the indicator data at various geography levels on the indicator data tab. Some of these are updated annually (when possible), some periodically, some only for the overall WIMD update and some only when census data becomes available. There are numerous indicators that feed into WIMD. WIMD 2019 index and domain ranks can be seen on the WIMD 2019 tab. The most recent index was published in 2019. The full index is updated every 4 to 5 years. Small areas are Census geographies called Lower-layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs). It is a National Statistic produced by statisticians at the Welsh Government. WIMD ranks all small areas in Wales from 1 (most deprived) to 1,909 (least deprived).
It identifies areas with the highest concentrations of several different types of deprivation. The Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) is the Welsh Government’s official measure of relative deprivation for small areas in Wales.
